It falls to me to outline a number of changes in the people involved here at DCL.
June 2022 is the point in time when I am retiring from the position of Chief Executive Officer. This decision has come after some of the most challenging few years in my career spanning 35 years in Youth and Community work which has taken me to many locations across Wales.
The pandemic has created a challenging environment for DCL to operate in support of this community, and the job of a CEO is to enable those people that deliver the services to the community to have the tools to do the job, I believe that our Trustees, Staff and Volunteers as well as our Partner organisations have done a fantastic job using those tools throughout the last two years despite the restrictions of the various periods of Covid.
Over recent years DCL has managed to put itself back onto a solid footing and with the new Senior Management team of Jo Satherley as CEO and Vikki Davies as Operation Manager they will bring renewed energy to DCL. They will be fully supported by their Board of Trustees with new Chairperson Mary Jones at its head.
Its important to know that DCL is holding a planning event towards the end of June where it is hoped that a new 3 – 5 year business will emerge from that meeting and give Jo the opportunity to take DCL to the next level in creating a stronger community.
It just leaves me with the hope that DCL can continue to help support the community in their difficult times, I am sure that Jo and the whole DCL team will do a fantastic job in the years to come.
